After graduating with a 2:1 BA Hons from Newcastle University in Music and English Literature, as well as Grade 8 ABRSM in Music Theory and Practical Piano, Lukas joined the guitar pop band, Maximo Park. As a founding member, he played keys and wrote material for the band, and has been a crucial part of the writing and live performances over the course of the bands career so far.

The band signed to Warp Records in 2004 and went on to become one of the most successful UK bands of the past 15 years, releasing six studio albums between 2005 and 2018. They achieved 3 UK Top 20 albums, 2 UK Gold and 2 European Platinum selling albums and 6 UK Top 20 singles. The band have been nominated for a Mercury Music Prize and have recorded with top producers Paul Epworth, Nik Launay and Gil Norton.

Maximo Park have toured the world extensively playing numerous festivals including Fuji Rocks (Japan), Pukkelpop (Denmark) and Falls Festival (Australia) and were honoured to open Glastonbury Festival in 2009.

Alongside Maximo duties, Lukas formed the band Karras with Matt Swinnerton (of British guitar band The Rakes). They released ‘Municipal Dances’ LP (Trestle Records) in 2017 - an instrumental blend of krautrock, disco and ambient. He has also co-written with other artists including German dance band Modeselektor and British rock band YOURCODENAMEIS:milo.

Aside from working on albums, he has composed music scores for short films, TVC's and most recently worked with the Royal Northern Symphonia composing and arranging a specially commissioned track to perform with Maximo Park.

In 2019 Lukas left Maximo Park moving with his wife to Melbourne, Australia. He continues to write and also teaches Music Theory and Song Writing at Melbourne's JMC Music Academy.
